Hello all,
Late last night my X220 was working fine. I don't remember whether I hibernated or just shut the lid, but this morning it wasn't working. It may or may not be working now, I hit the power button to document for this email what it does, and I got a "System Resume?" message. I don't know if it will recover or if it's okay, so here's what was happening this morning. When I opened the lid the only light was the fingerprint reader. I hit the power button, the fingerprint reader light turned off, the keyboard light blinked, capslock blinked, the battery indicator light went on (and maybe off), and then it sat there with only the power button lit (and maybe the battery indicator). The HD indicator never blinked. If I plugged it in, the AC-power indicator didn't light. It just sat there with the fan running. If (after a few minutes) I hit the power button again, the fan went quiet, the power button was dark, and the fingerprint reader was lit (the last state is what you'd expect, I guess). Now as I said, while I was typing this on another machine, I hit the button to make sure I had the above behaviour right, and it booted. And went to an (80x25 display) message saying the last attempt at System Resume (?) failed, did I want to continue or to go something else. I said continue and eventually I got a Windows prompt and what looks like its last state. :) Battery says 0:54 so it wasn't like a phone when the battery's running on fumes. I'm going to start by running a backup :) and hope it continues to work. Can anyone suggest what was wrong, and if there was a fix? BTW I tried this 4 or 5 times always with the same result, except the last time. I was fearing having to call Lenovo and get service on Monday. Thanks! =aw _______________________________________________ Thinkpad mailing list [email protected] http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad
