If Webdav works for you, it is the best option,  it will be unaffected 
by any changes that Hotmail make to their web pages, including 
information screens that you have to click through before getting to 
your account. It won't work for everyone though, Hotmail accounts set up 
after September 2000 (I think) are not Webdav enabled, if you have a 
newer account you will have to use one of the other options. Hotmail 
haven't made any announcements that I've seen, but you can be fairly 
sure that WebDav for all accounts will cease sometime after the current 
roll-out of POP3 completes.
