Secure connections are meaningless when using the extensions.
Thunderbird is connecting to a POP server running on your computer, as
the connection is entirely on your computer there is no possibility of
data packets being intercepted.
The connection between the extension and Yahoo's servers is the same as
when using a browser to read mail on line. Security here is the same as
when viewing the your mail on a Yahoo webpage, and is handled by the
extension communicating with Yahoo's servers.

Working ... sort of ...
Thunderbird 3.1.8
WebMail 1.3.11
WebMail - Yahoo 1.4.7
Had a little trouble getting the WebMail - Yahoo plugin to work on
Thunderbird 3. The Account Setup instructions on the WebMail site
still provides info for TB2; so I had to wing it for TB3.
Finally managed to get it working by turning off SSL on the POP server
(incoming), which concerns me.
I tried enabling SSL/TLS and using port 995 - also changed WebMail POP
server port to 995 and restarted it - but that didn't work. It just
seems to hang up at "connected to localhost" but never moves on to
"Connect: Host Contacted..."
SSL/TLS works fine on the SMTP server (outgoing).
Can anyone confirm for me whether SSL/TLS *should* work with the POP
server for the WebMail - Yahoo plugin?
Thanks,
