I think it most unlikely that your suggestion of the use of a secure port connection outbound will work when you actually try to send email. The Webmail add-ons do not work with secure connections and there is no need for them to do so since the connection from Thunderbird to the add-on (acting as the server) is entirely within your own computer and does not need a secure connection.
Users of the Webmail add-on are well advised (for Windows systems) to use the default settings outbound (port 25) and "None" as the security setting. The add-on uses the security settings provided to you in the direct Web interface. This is effectively the exact same settings you would be getting if you sent email via the Web interface ... which is what the add-on is doing on your behalf.
