Hi Martin, A very short summary is that, to provide offset-neutral timestamps, RFC 3339 makes an extension that is incompatible with ISO 8601, hampering its deployability. A short summary is right in the draft’s Section 2: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ietf-sedate-datetime-extended-06.html#name-updating-rfc-3339 Some more detailed analysis has been written up by Justin Grant in PR #24: https://github.com/ietf-wg-sedate/draft-ietf-sedate-datetime-extended/pull/24 Looking forward to your feedback. [and sorry for violating my own request to unicast to one of the mailing lists, but this was an important question.] Grüße, Carsten _______________________________________________ TICTOC mailing list [email protected] https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/tictoc
