I'm not sure I see the relevance, since we're talking about local file 
saving, right? But yes,
it works best with local TW files.

But, TD will also allow you to serve up data folder tiddlers. It doesn't 
play as nicely -- you don't get the icon and tw title display. And, worse, 
you can't close a data folder window and then open it up again. You have to 
close out the entire session, including the other TW files you may have 
opened. You may also need to use the task manager to kill the nw.exe 
process that keeps on running. Then you relaunch TD. So ... there are some 
convenience issues. But it does work.
