Why do people keep replying with not-so-relevant issues? Other than the general reference to UnaMesa's cut down budget, Eric clearly states that:
"From a personal perspective, the problem is simple: in order to continue providing full-time support to the worldwide TiddlyWiki community, I must quickly find a way to replace the loss of revenue from UnaMesa," TW *becomes* what is made of it (a few years ago it didn't even exist) so little point in discussing that in this thread. Eric is one of the willing "makers" of TW - but the issue here and now is purely FINANCIAL.
