Great! Now another has surfaced. There are no auto backups happening. When the > tiddler saves automatically or when manually saving changes, Chrome offers > a dialogue box wanting to save the TW file with (1) appenmded to the > filename. I have a backup folder specified inside the same folder as the TW > html file. My older TWc 2.6.1 has no problems with the autosave. I cannot > see the problem. I just downloaded an empty version of TW 2.8.1 and can confirm that this is how it behaves in Chrome. It looks like no longer seems to help in that regard, even though the browser asks me if I want to enable this Java applet to do it's thing. However, evidently, it doesn't enable saving (and saving backups) in latest Chrome. Perhaps, for now, it may be wise to move to Firefox + TiddlyFox, at least when it comes to working with Tiddlywiki locally. Know that I don't like that bit of advice much either as I find Firefox annoyingly slow compared to Chrome. > Also - I just noticed - in the older TW, when saving the notification > says, "Main TiddlyWiki file saved, Backup saved". In the new TW, when > saving the notification says, "Downloading/saving TiddlyWiki file. > These issues are something for Eric to answer. I believe this (default) option was added to simply be able to download the wiki and save it when the browser is otherwise (no longer) able to perform the saving. This, obviously, will not save any automatic backups, I'm afraid. Best wishes, Tobias. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group.
