Actually, that's a quite meaningful feature request for @DiscussPlugin and I do agree that this is how it should work on @Customize — i would also considerably make the whole thing a **lot** more responsive... and not issue a thousand warnings in the console at every tiddler bein opened. Other than Jon's default where you use it on the HTML representation, I believe I still prefer the iframe below the tiddler that would then slide open. Perhaps I can even borrow some code from @disqus to at least show the number of comments in the slider button. To me, what's important are the capabilities. >> > > Yes. I'd love to have a better experience with a TiddlySpace comment > system. > I just don't quite think that spaces and tiddlers are really what's needed here... but rather a solid messaging system, including the underlying infrastructure and db schemas, scripts that make it work, with polling and all. Remember TypeWithMe? Services vanish... others reserve a right to my >> private pictures. I prefer to weigh the options... interaction vs. >> ownership. I couldn't care less about the latter. >> > > There are services, that don't reserve rights to your private pictures... > [1] > There are services, that don't reserve rights to your content and don't > spam you with adds [2] > Yes, I can understand that you would prefer those and I admit perhaps being lazy in that regard. However, I have yet to get to know something actually troubling. If they earn money by selling ads that I don't care about, fine. After all, most of these services provide a good such and for nil. I think, people are much more confused about hitting some reply button >> (especially when not even registered with TiddlySpace) and then finding a >> tiddler by that name in their space not knowing if anyone ever notices. >> > > Yes, that's an interface problem, which we should try to solve... > There would have to be some query for a tiddler that allows to easily query if there are actual responses, rather than tiddlers by the same title. So, instead, there's a disqus comment thread, some simple input field to >> type a reply and hit submit. Everyone knows how to do that instantly. >> > > So using a 3rd party service is so much better than what I did at: > http://compare-tw2-tw5.tiddlyspace.com/ > IMO just the CSS is different and you have to be logged in to TS to avoid > spam. You will have to click for every tiddler where you care about comments... which actually ain't a bad thing.
