Great, glad you like it, and good to see on the groups again. It would have been feasible to make the toolbar be a plugin but I was concerned that the purpose of the toolbar is ease of use, and if it is a plugin then it is a lot less accessible to beginners, the people who might benefit the most from it. But I'm also aware that the editor has expanded the core by 20 or 25% in terms of the number of shadow tiddlers. I argue that we've never really tried to optimise the size of the core, and so there is plenty of scope to do so without having to remove the editor toolbar functionality.
