It's a google discussion group flaw or feature, if I understand; Anyone can flag a thread as Completed at anytime (supposedly when he or she feels the original question is satisfyingly answered) - and the flag is seen by everybody. The way we use the discussion groups this makes no sense and even if people learn that flagging like this is not a good idea, we continuously have newcomers...
