Ciao Steve

That "Sectioned" style out on the net I believe is very related to the huge
growth in tablet and smartphone usage. Sites, sort of, shifted from
hierarchic drill downs (via menus & links) to visually contiguous "flat
space".

This is a lot easier for modest sized viewports where excess menus and
*segue* links create messy complexity, making it hard to know where you are.

Its not without its problems because some types of differentiation take a
beating by being "brought up" & flattened.

But my overall sense is that for many situations for TW authors wanting to
present things more widely the "sectioned" approach works very well.

In my head is a kinda idea of TW that present themselves sectionally
(vertical mode) or sliderly (horizontal mode). This is all a user sees.
Sections/Tiddlers/Tranclusions are added via an editor that appears in a
modal and which closes on completion of edit, taking its place directly in
flow at the appropriate juncture. Similarly, links to individual tiddlers
that need to be viewed outside the flow could go through modals and not
persist in the river. Something like that.

Just some thoughts
Josiah
