I agree that a Wikipedia entry isn't yet "marketing" but it can be 
informatively foundational to it.  "Needs focus" (I.e. what you want it 
for) sounds right. And I'd suggest as much linking as possible from 
"Applications" to actual example wiki of a big range of types of use so a 
potential user can get the measure of what they could concretely do with it.
