Wasn't there something about jQuery-plugin being passed a default
namespace?

While that might be true from a purely technical perspective, we should
seize this opportunity to provide a clear and well-thought-out interface
(whatever that might be).
This is our chance to attract jQuery developers, and we have to make it
appealing (and clear) for them.
