I tend to agree, however, you'll still need support programs like inkscape, pngcrush, zip to make it work. So for windows users, in order to make it work properly, you'll need an installer. Furthermore, as much as I would support writing it in Java, it is doing the work twice, especially since Sebastian is really doing a wonderful job in getting the perl client working properly. And honestly, I think you'll get the same Unix<->Windows problems in Java too.
