Hey all,

Does anyone have any ideas on what's causing the inkscape crashes under
windows? I have 5 machines running the client, all with a minimum of 2GB RAM
(most have 4GB) and inkscape crashes regularly on all 5 after 4-5 hours of
rendering in loop mode. Inkscape memory usage is usually between 900MB and 1.1
GB at the time of the crash. On the machines with 4GB RAM, this leaves ~2.5GB
still free at the time of the crash.

Is this an inkscape problem? Or is it to blame on windows? I've tried
using renderstripes=5 in tilesathome.conf, and it seemed to help some but not
as much as I expected. As I understand it, renderstripes at 5 will split layer
17 into 4 stripes and render them all seperately, thus reducing memory usage to
a quarter of what it would be to render the layer as a whole. Is this correct?
If so, would it be possible to increase the number of stripes to further
reduce memory usage?

I'd dump windows on the clients and run linux, but I had issues with
drivers that I couldn't resolve and I kind of just gave up and loaded XP. I
also tried switching to Batik, but it seems Batik support is mostly broken in
the stable client, at least under win32 anyway.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

-Jeremy
