I think that is only for residential streets, but names are needed for almost
all roads, including unclassified roads. (Unless the maplint rule
residential-without-name is misnamed.)

A small improvement would be to not print the text 'residential-without-name'
every time the rule matches, but just highlight the edges of the street. For
the other maplint rules the text is useful, but this rule is by far the most
common and omitting the text would make the map less cluttered and leave room
for writing in street names on a printout.

The maplint layer can be more out of date than the NoName map, for example here:
<http://openstreetmap.org/?lat=51.5684&lon=-0.02009&zoom=17&layers=B000TTF> some
street names and a missing way were added a couple of weeks ago but maplint is
old. Then again, the Osmarender tiles are old too so I am not sure what
happened.
