In principle maplint is as current as osmarender since both are
generated at the same time by the same clients.  However, the map had
to be re-rendered a while ago and the maplint layer was left out to
speed up the rendering process.

I would say, instead of showing debug information on the standard tile
layer you should request to change the maplint rules to have maplint
highlight the issues.

Don't know whether the people working on maplint are reading this
list.  You might have better luck on -dev.
