I think it depends on what the purpose of the Osmarender map is. I thought that the 'standard' OSM map is the Mapnik one, while Osmarender (which is faster to update and tends to show more information, but is less aesthetically pleasing) is a kind of debugging aid for people to see their changes quickly. In that case it would make some sense to highlight unnamed streets, if done in a relatively unobtrusive way that doesn't affect other map usage. OTOH, if the intention is for Osmarender to show the finished map for end users then of course it should not be cluttered with highlighting for incomplete work. I felt that there was some demand for missing-name highlighting without the more heavyweight maplint output - the existence of the NoName map shows that at least somebody wants that - and that adding some highlighting to the normal Osmarender map would be a compromise between full maplint output, which is fairly technical and verbose, and the current Osmarender map, which doesn't show the difference between an unnamed road and a name which just isn't being printed because the road is too short. -- Ed Avis <[email protected]> _______________________________________________ Tilesathome mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tilesathome
