Is the client-side problem in converting OSM to SVG, or in rendering the SVG to bitmap? I thought it was in rendering SVG to bitmap where the big client issues are. If the OSM data is simplified for z6, then it could be done. That means a lot of decision making about what is kept and what is skipped for z6. Personally, I like having the lowzoom look different between Mapnik and TaH; I like our current z6 the way it is. But that's just my opinion. - Alan
