Norm,
I am not sure about the M12+ as I think that had NMEA support from the start. GT+ also does but there are GT firmware versions that do not support NMEA. Are ou sure it is a GT+ . Motorola give GT plus model numbers R3211G11x, R3111G11xn. Does that fit? If you use the ID command, @@CjC<cr><lf> , you will see the firmware version. I found a synergy systems tech note indicating that you need 2.x + to use NMEA if it is a GT. GT with lower versions gives your symptom..

Mike,
I am aware of the 4800 baud change and do account for it. I used both tac32 and
syntac AND winoncore12 to try to switch modes. None worked. I'll buy only one
board being bad. Not both. Do have a suspicion about the eval board that I'm
using. Will play with that in a few minutes.
Thanks for the support.

I don't have a GT, but with my UT and VP I loose comms after switching
to NMEA due to the baud rate change. I don't expect the GT reacts
differently. Maybe yours is broken. There is also winoncore12 free as a
monitor. That accepts both modes IIRC.

Mike,
It would still output data at 9600 moto bin(after sending @@Ci). I also tried
successfully to turn on the Hn string.
I'm doing something wrong, or there is something I'm not doing right..
Thanks

Hi Norm,
hmm. doc says that the command willl switch the port to 4800, so you
should see no coherent data at all immediately that the command is
executed. Were you still getting 9600 data without resetting the device?
Would it respond to MBP commands after the @@Ci ?

Hi all!!
Trying to get a gt+ setup(also tried one of my m12+t's) as a nmea receiver.
@@Ci does not work. Did form the string correctly.
Tried it with tac32, used Labview to send the hex string.
Receiver ignores it and continues to send moto bin at 9600..
Any ideas??
Want to use this for a balloon flight with aprs. Good news is that we want to
launch Friday, so it's not too pressing.
