Hi The answer is always - that depends on what you need / want to do with it.
For timing, something with two channels usually is more useful. If all you ever worry about is frequency, one channel is fine. The auction sites seem to list them for $100 to $200. They are a nice compact unit for that price. A (larger) 5335 / 5345 / 5334 counter should be / might be found at the same price level. If dual channel is indeed a useful feature, you might look for one of them.
