I have a GEC 1Kc/s crystal that looks like the third from right. It's a massive slab of quartz - I occasionally wonder about spinning it up to see if the motion's detectable with a bit of crude interferometry, but I have no idea about permitted drive levels and don't want to damage it. It's hard to imagine it would be stable or time-nuts-worthy, but hints would be welcome.
