Jim, I'm happy to give you my BBB and custom made gps cape for it if you want to continue the work. I stopped all work right about the time I got married (2 years ago) and likely will never circle back around to play with it again.
It uses a Furuno GT-8736 timing receiver and I had it working with NTP pretty easily. I'll try to dig it out and get into it and get it ticking again before mailing it to you if you are interested in it.
