One thing that would greatly expand the appeal of TinyERP is ADOdb, a database
abstraction layer. Rather than being tied to only one database, coding to a
database abstraction layer would allow for the use of many different databases
with TinyERP. This would enable TinyERP to integrate more readily in differing
company environments where strategic decisions have already been made as to the
supported enterprise database. Many companies have already made substantial
investments in their current database architecture, whether that be MySQL,
Oracle, or SQL Server or others, and for them, having TinyERP able to integrate
and run within their existing database architecture would certainly enhance
TinyERP's appeal.

ADOdb is a well known database abstraction layer. This link provides details
for both php and python versions:

http://adodb.sourceforge.net/

I would like to see this become the next priority task for TinyERP beyond 4.2.0.

Gerry
