But it does in most instances. Yes, if you bring in some very very compelling solution sometimes the CTO will grant you an exception, but that is rare these days, and really wouldn't you prefer just not having to worry about it. Myself, if I have a lead at XYZ for a mid-sized ERP system I would feel much more comfortable knowing that I didn't have to get over the hurdle of trying to convince them to put in another database. If TinyERP was using ADOdb and they tell me they are a MySQL Enterprise infrastructure, I just say "No problem, TinyERP works with MySQL" and continue to focus on the benefits of using TinyERP.
