Every time I look with fresh enthusiasm into Tinyerp or now openerp. And everytime I get frustrated by the huge chaos of it.
A "stable" branch is available as static download package A "development" branch called 4.3.3 or whatever is available and then one reads in blogs about upcoming version 5.0 which is suddenly on bazaar and "about" to be released. So which one is it ? 4.3 is development or 5.0 ? Apparently both. Documentation is scattered all over the place between wikis, download files, blogs, you name it. How does Openobjects relate to Openerp ? Is Openerp an accounting module of openobjects? Does Openobjects replace Openerp ? Or what? Godzillions of Bazaar branches and nowhere is pointed out where and how to get the latest trunk. What depends on each other and what not ? How the source is stored and documented is one of the worst I have ever seen. The more is produced the worse it gets. One gets the impression that the OpenXXXX guys do not know themselves where this is heading. It seems they just randomly employ some French and Indians developers who put on some project branches, produce some modules, blogs and papers and express their enormous enthusiasm about it all and what great fun it is to learn about accounting etc. Really, please get some managers who know how to keep overview, who organise people and sort out the mess, pleeeeeeeeeeeease. I really love the idea of Openerp but this must be presented and organised in a way so that the average admin doesnt need to wet his pants when seeing the chaos. End of rant. Wish you a pleasant weekend. :( -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openerp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=25162#25162 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman/listinfo/tinyerp-users
