Thank you.

That is nowhere mentioned. Instead the webpages present Openerp and openobject
as two different things. Somewhere it says Openobject is a RAD. According to
you its a platform for running some modules which make up an ERP.

Also the launchpad directories dont make that clear.
https://launchpad.net/openobject

If OpenERP is just a collection of modules why then are there addons ? What
makes an "Addon" distinct from a module and what the heck is Business
Intelligence ?

One might also get the impression that the OpenObject Server, presumably a
thingy to serve some objects, such as Business Intelligence or an ERP module is
different from OpenERP.

How this is presented in Websites, Wiki and Launchpad make things unclear.

And worse: NOWHERE is comprehensively described how to get the latest
OpenERP/OpenObjects module collection trunk from Launchpad running ?

Install an openobjects server, and also OpenERP, throw in some business
intelligence and perhaps some addons ?

Sorry for being cynical.

Please do not get me wrong, I installed TinyERP before and abandoned it because
it was too hard to maintain. And I DO love open documentation and open projects.

Presumably the tinycompany is paying some people who are working on websites,
and invent expressions such as "OpenERP" "OpenObjects" "Business Intelligence"
"Addons" so they can bring some structure into this so it is comprehensible to
humble people like me with 20 years+ software development under their belt
without having to go into the source code.

So guys, pleaaaase what must be pulled from Launchpad to pull the latest trunk
of OpenERP ?

Thank you for your help.

Geejay
