I agree that backporting critical fixes should be done for official releases. At least within a main release e.g. V5. There should be a tool at development side that will record all dependencies to previous solutions made into the trunk that will impact the backported solution, so the dependencies are backported to, otherwise your system will be broken by dependencies that are not included. How can we be sure right now?
