I agree with you but one needs to know what expects out of the integration. I 
mean, if you expect a given feature and it's simple to add it to current 
OpenERP implementation, I'd go into that direction so you don't have to 
maintain both infrastructures. If you want/need to make use of advanced 
features a good connector is the solution, I think.
