I have come to suspect based on the evidence that we just plain forget most of our lives before age 7. Some of it is bad or traumatic, some good, some neutral. Occasionally a retrieval cue triggers a memory - a good, a bad or an indifferent one. Why would we only consider the bad ones "repressed." It is not repression, it is normal forgetting.
