The University of Wyoming Psychology Department seeks an applicant for one tenure-track position (assistant level) in Clinical Psychology. Appointment will begin August 2004. We have revised our APA accredited doctoral training program to include a focus in Primary Care that will train students for the 21st century. The clinical program is committed to the scientist-practitioner model, as we prepare students to work in faculty positions, Integrated Primary Care (i.e. collaborating with other health care professionals) or general mental health settings. This is an energetic department with active collaborations between clinical and experimental faculty whose research interests are in developmental, social, cognitive psychology, and psychology/law. The clinical faculty are primarily behavioral/cognitive behavioral with research interests in depression, anxiety, personality, health psychology, and developmental disabilities. A Ph.D. from an APA or CPA-accredited clinical program and completion of an APA or CPA-accredited clinical internship are required. Preferences: Areas of clinical and research interest are open, although we seek colleagues who will be compatible with faculty interests and program direction and can show evidence of successful teaching and research. Completion of 1500 post-doctoral hours with 2 hrs. supervision per 40 clinical hrs., prior to hiring, is desirable. Prior to attaining tenure and upon completion of licensing requirements, candidates must obtain licensure as a psychologist in Wyoming. Position responsibilities include: graduate and undergraduate teaching (UW has both an on-campus and off-campus undergraduate program), advising, clinical and research supervision of graduate students, and development of a productive research program. The Medicine Bow Mountains (11,000 ft.) provide outdoor recreation, while the community and University host concerts, art exhibitions, dance and theater productions.
