On Wed, 21 Dec 2005, Allen Esterson went:

"As stated, our conclusion today is that it is unconstitutional to teach
ID as an alternative to evolution in a public school science classroom"
(p.137)
But there's nothing in the ruling preventing a science teacher from
discussing ID in the classroom if, for some reason, he or she wants to
discuss it. In fact, the only thing specifically "banned" in the
ruling is the school board's attempt to force science teachers to read
students a specific position statement and refer students to a
specific book. I can see the ruling only as a victory for free speech
in the classroom.
