Neither am I. I am talking about the assumption that ethical conduct requires (or is even best generated by) a "code." Codes inevitably come into conflict with real situations that were not envisioned when the code was first thought up. This is why we change our laws so regularly (almost continuously). One needs ethical thought, from moment to moment, not moldy old codes that absolve one of responsibility even as they fail.
