From today's Inside Higher Ed: "Many children and young adults are abandoning reading, according to a report issued today <http://www.nea.gov/news/news07/TRNR.html> by the National Endowment for the Arts. Among the findings: Less than one third of 13-year-olds are daily readers, a 14 percent decline from 20 years ago. On average, Americans between the ages of 15 and 24 spend seven minutes a day on leisure reading, compared to two hours a day watching television."
