Michael Sylvester speculated:

Btw,does not Good Friday coincide with a Jewish event-something about
liberation from Turkish rule?

Paul Brandon replied:

Though this year Good Friday was the day after the start of Purim
(which according to my calendar began at sundown on Thursday), but
this was by coincidence and I don't think it will happen again for
some time...

I don't see what all the fuss is about. If Purim and Easter coincide
this year, then "liberation from Turkish rule" is not so shabby. It was
actually deliverance from Persian persecution, but Persia back then
included a pretty big chunk of what is now Turkey (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Achaemenid_Empire.jpg )

As an egregious mistake, it falls somewhat short of whether Hongry (sic)
or Europe is a country. Actually, I'd think Michael's version is pretty
close. How many of us know that much about Purim? OK, some of you do,
but still.
