Is anyone offering any distance learning courses at your
campus? If so, are faculty given special compensation for
creating or administering distance courses (or for both)?
What sort of compensation: money, released time? How much?

I loved teaching a distance learning course to three
campuses. I alternated campuses so I could have a
"presence" at each one. No extra compensation, though I'd
say that there was a LOT more time involved for me (and wear
on my poor old Buick Roadmaster). Students loved the course
but complained that when I wasn't on THEIR campus, they
didn't like it.

I think distance learning is one of those things that the
administrations love - and we, as teachers, think is kind of
fun - but the students DO NOT like it.

Anybody else find that to be true?
