I remember seeing lectures on the Turin Shroud as a child.  As a semi-avid
coin collector, I wondered why the coins resting on the eyelids were so
worn (this was before the carbon dating).  Producing religious relics was
a cottage industry in the middle ages.  If this shroud was faked, someone
went through a lot of effort...maybe even as far as collecting some
indigenous plants.  I also wonder about the poor man's European features,
wouldn't Jesus be more Mediterranean?
