Why would it be a problem, Michael?
Scientific research has used the metric system all along.
In those _very_ few cases where a study may have used non-metric measures
(i.e., a study of the average speed of automobiles driven by inebriated
drivers versus those smoking marijuana is measured in M.P.H., conversion
would be a trivial matter (just convert to K.P.H.) and even a
non-converted study of that nature would show the same relative
relationships.
Any journal editor would certainly note the use of English measure and
automatically convert it to metric before publication anyway, so the
problem would never reach the publication.
