Because the effect is so subtle, it would be best for you to try to rig a
condition in which the other people trying to see the effect don't know when
the toothbrush is on. Perhaps some kind of mechanically (not electrically!)
generated background noise to mask the sounds of the toothbrush, with the
brusher to turn it on and off at predetermined times not known in advance by
the other people.
