You'll have to forgive me but it's a quiet Sunday morning and I'm going to pretend this is list-relevant because it relates to differences in national psychology.
We rarely make the news in the USA unless it's something dumb like the report on the new copy-cat Canadian TV reality programme "Lake Shore", which promises to be even more offensive than "Jersey Shore" (though it has yet to find a network willing to show it) (See http://tinyurl.com/354bfof ) So I was delighted to see a positive piece on us in the New York Times this morning concerning our treatment of immigrants. I especially liked this: "Canada also has a more accommodating political culture - one that accepts more pluribus and demands less unum".
