I think guest lecturers have some advatages. I'd suggest talking about 
interesting research and involving the class in any aspect that might be 
relevant to them.  If the candidate's research is relevant to that class then 
that would be great.  If the expectation is to put a lecture together over what 
the class is now covering, then again, I would try to see their text and find 
something that can be personalized to the class and involve them in the 
material. A lot depends then on whether candidate is given some choices, the 
type and level of class, etc.  Make it interesting and involve the audience.  
Classes generally are supportive and like the novelty of guest speakers, and 
enjoy a break from the usual routine.  Nothing is more boring than a powerpoint 
or video that has technical problems tho, so be sure all equipment works. A 
class of 300 means some audio support, but try to move and not be anchored to 
one location behind podium or whatever.
