I, too, have noticed what seems to be a greater number of Youtube segments in Portuguese rather than in Spanish even though worldwide there are probably twice as many Spanish speakers as Portuguese speakers.
I can only speculate that the greater numbers of Portuguese Youtube segments is perhaps due to the increasing economic power of Brazil, which probably contains the largest concentration of Portuguese speakers. Perhaps our colleague, Jose Ferreira Alves, from Portugal can shed some light on this.
