You might be forgiven for assuming the Austin Chronicle is the daily newspaper in Austin but a brief perusal of the articles will provide evidence that, although this was in the "News" section, it was not a news article in any sense. In fact, it was listed in the Blog section of this alternative paper. Chris again: "Here's a verbatim snippet from the Texas Republican Platform for 2012: "We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills..., critical thinking skills and similar programs... [which] have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority."" A critical thinker might ask "what is being elided?"
