Hi James M. Clark Professor of Psychology and Chair 204-786-9757 204-774-4134 Fax [email protected]
>>> Michael Palij <[email protected]> 07-Jul-12 6:15 am >>> (1) Chris Green was the person who started the thread, not I. JC: My apologies. (2) I didn't know I was off the PESTS list. Thanks for letting me know. JC: You're welcome. (3) Since you say that the discussion was "a week or so ago", is it fair to say that the discussants had a Bem-like knowledge of the future for the Forbes article published on July 1 and the Chronicle article published on July 6? If so, the PESTS should try to publish the experience in a social psych journal. JC: I'm a cognitive psychologist and more sympathetic to natural explanations: http://www.insidehighered.com/quicktakes/2012/06/29/texas-gop-vs-critical-thinking (4) Since people who are both on TiPS and PESTS discussed this, I guess you're saying that people who are only on TiPS don;t want to discuss it. Hmmm. An interesting example of bystander apathy, don't ya think? JC: Or natural selection ... TIPS people with specific interest in critical thinking are also on PESTs? (5) So, since this issue was thoroughly discussed on PESTS, anyone want to provide a summary so that non-PESTS can benefit from your discussion? JC: I looked for archive but no luck. Will see what might be done. Take care Jim --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [email protected].
