The lack of reality represented in this article that any college prof
would readily recognize is the lack of "boilerplate" that more and more
colleges are required to include in the syllabus, such as statements
on plagiarism (usually block quotes from "official documents"),
statements on handling students with disabilities/handicaps/"whatever
the politically correct term is today" that also often include block
quotes from official documents, as well as how the final course
letter grade is determined from the final numeric grade and how
the numeric final grade is determined from the course components.
And the most glaring omission from the syllabus is any mention of
how many times one can use "one of my grandparents died" excuse
during the semester. Clearly, a newbie.
Then again, he *is* teaching an English course, he appears to be
an adjunct, and clearly has no intention to teach again at whatever
imaginary college he is affiliated with. No wonder colleges are
trying to eliminate tenure especially in the humanities; see:

So, Adam Mansbach might be having a living fun at the expense of
others but he shouldn't be surprised if some, underemployed adjuncts,
say something that is a variation of the title of his very popular book:
STFU!
