I use both wired (Linksys USB200M) and wireless (TiVo brand). Check out
www.tivo.com/adapter for more info on USB adapters. TiVo used to have
pretty good prices and I assume they still do. Probably a month or so ago
they must have had a run on adapters since both were back ordered. Because
Linux has so few drivers, not every (read that as most) USB adapter will
work with TiVo. Although I bought one wired adapter locally, it's the same
version 1 device TiVo sells. They now sell version 2 but you will need
their 7.2.2 software. I haven't had any problems with either type. Make
sure any adapter is on the TiVo list as acceptable; some require a block of
specific serial numbers so be careful with what you buy. All my DVRs are
TiVo, but Humax should work the same way.

Give the wired adapter a try if the wiring won't show and you're handy with
stringing cable and installing wall boxes. I bought most of my materials
from www.9thtee.com; there are others you can use too. It will cost a bit
more for all the materials than simply using wireless. If you already have
a wireless router, wireless won't take up any ports on your network.

Good luck :-)

Walt
