This has happened now 3 times in 4 months. I'll be trying to set up a recording, or perhaps retrieving a recording, and the receiver will display just a static image for a second. The screen may blank or may keep the static image for a while, and the sound keeps playing (although it may freeze, then pick up several seconds later, then freeze again as well).
This also affects the "watch live TV" choice, so the only option seems to be to reboot the TiVo by unplugging it. Fortunately, the device retains its settings, including the WishLists and ToDo lists, but it's frustrating to have to go through the setup videos repetitively. Is this likely a bug in the TiVo, the CableCard (I have a Comcast Multistream card in my receiver), or a bug in Comcast transmission that somehow confuses the receiver?
