You mean the 5 (or 6, depending on TiVo model and when purchased) videos in the Now Playing List that are an intro to TiVo? Those should only play *once* when first setup. I really think you have a bad box there, it seems that it is losing its mind and thinking it is new each time it reboots. And the freezing is not a good sign. Have you called TiVo Support?
