Gerrit Pape just reminded me on the qconfirm list of an idea suggested by Matt Armstrong quite some time ago.
TMDA could look for a local Message-ID in the 'In-Reply-To' and 'References' headers of incoming messages, and deliver the message if it finds one. The idea is to avoid sending a confirmation request when someone replies to a message you send them. This can already be accomplished using 'dated' addresses, but 'dated' addresses have a timeout, and some people prefer to only use their bare address. This would be just one more way to further reduce the number of confirmation requests sent out to legitimate senders. For example, I send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] My message headers contain the following: Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I tell TMDA to accept any messages that are in reference to a Message-ID containing the string 'hrothgar.la.mastaler.com'. When bobby replies, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> will be listed in 'References' and the message will be automatically accepted. What do you think of the idea? _________________________________________________ tmda-workers mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) http://tmda.net/lists/listinfo/tmda-workers
